On this episode of 1-on-1’s w/Deuces, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Carl Jones, the brilliant mind behind The Boondocks and Black Dynamite. From the jump, I wanted to get beyond the headlines and really hear his story — how he went from writing for animated comedy to running shows that have shaped culture.

We talked about his journey as a writer and showrunner, and how every step of that path taught him to find his voice while mentoring others coming up in the industry.
